About Us

In the spring of 2008 Reverend Damon Dorsey began sending daily short inspiration emails to a few family and friends. Those receiving began forwarding those emails and a list was created that grew to a couple hundred and was named WOTD (Word of the Day).

On January 1, 2010 Reverend Dorsey began working on a non-profit organization, QSL (Quietly Speaking Loudly). QSL quickly got to work and teamed up with local shelters to feed the homeless. In late 2010, QSL partnered with local radio station 92Q to carry out the ‘Blankets for B-more’ initiative. QSL conducted a toy drive during the 2011 Christmas season that resulted in over 200 toys collected and distributed to children at Kennedy Krieger and the Recovery House. QSL transitioned into what would soon become Walk By Faith Ministries with the growth of Reverend Dorsey’s ministry.

In August 2012, Reverend Dorsey along with seven others had a meeting and began planning the launch of Walk By Faith Ministries (also known as WBF). WBF made its official public announcement on May 11, 2013. WBF’s first service was on New Year’s Eve in 2013 and began weekly Sunday worship services in January of 2014 at Visions Banquet Hall in Northeast Baltimore.

Just 6 months in and WBF outgrew the first location and moved to the American Legion in Towson, MD. Remarkably after just 6 months at the American Legion tremendous growth forced the WBF Family to relocate again. In December 2014 WBF began holding services at Coldstream Elementary School in Baltimore. After arriving to Coldstream WBF adopted the school along with Abbottston Elementary where WBF was able to provide uniforms, school supplies and haircuts for students in need. During the time at Coldstream, WBF also partnered with the schools food pantry to do Thanksgiving and other food giveaways.

Due to continued growth in December 2016 WBF moved to its fourth and current location at 2500 E Northern Parkway. WBF has done multiple community service projects, a 5 star dinner for the homeless in War Memorial Plaza, given away scholarships, uniforms and supplies to students and WBF operates passionately under the Mission Statement “To love God, to increase our faith and to help others do the same”. WBF serves hundreds each Sunday and continues to be one of the fastest growing and most diverse churches in Baltimore continuing to help people find and develop a meaningful relationship with God.
